| Granny used to dry the clothes in the second floor of the barn with the window wide open. They were sheltered from bad weather in winter, and from kid?s games in the garden the entire year. She used to call our games "Look at the big mess you did". When grandpa left us she forgot these two pieces on purpose. Of course she only told me this years later, when I was no longer afraid of the barn. For years I've believed in big spiders and shadows that could grab me by the neck. There were only these two pieces of their clothes side by side after all. |
